Welcome to Davis County! - Antelope Island
Davis County

Web Site
Davis County was created in October 1850 and was named after Captain Daniel C. Davis, a pioneer leader, early settler and member of the Mormon Battalion. The county consists of 630 square miles and is the smallest in land area of the 29 Utah counties. Of this, only 223 square miles is usable land. Most of the county is under the Great Salt Lake! Antelope Island adds another 42 square miles of land surface. This grows and shrinks depending on drought conditions!

Because of the ideal climate, rich soil, and location between the cities of Salt Lake and Ogden, Davis County is the third largest county in terms of population.
